There was a time many years ago — okay, several lifetimes ago — in high school actually when I was addicted. It was a pretty bad addiction too. Had me slothing around all grumpy, falling asleep in classes, not looking my best. Yes, I was addicted all right. To a game. Solitaire.
Of course, they didn’t have computer games way back when. No, instead when everyone else in my family fell asleep at night, I’d stay up, doing my thing. I’d get out my deck of cards, prop up my pillows, smooth out my comforter, and start plopping the cards down on my bed top. Night after night after…well, you get the picture.
And now I’m doing the same thing. Oh – not at night – far too dead tired at the end of the day for that. No, it’s mostly in the morning. Or the middle of the day for a little “reward.” Or when I’m supposed to be making dinner. Instead of hovering over things simmering on the stove, I sneak up to the computer and then makes excuses later as to why everything’s a little on the dry side.
What’s the game I’m addicted to? Warning: Don’t read any further if you don’t want to be addicted too… Okay, if you dare, here goes. It’s Text Twist on Yahoo. Ever try it? Are you hooked too? Any support groups out there?

I tried it and I’m not very good at it. Maybe if I keep trying I can challange you.
Or you can just come tie up my hands so I’ll stop!
